DINNER
The
WCTF is proud to host the 2nd annual Global
Partners’ Dinner at the Sheraton Universal Hotel -
Starview Room on May 9, 2012. This year’s Global
Partners Awards Dinner, hosted by Mr. Lorenzo Lamas,
will honor Dr. Yuri Genyk,
Surgical Director, Liver/Intestinal Transplant
Program at
Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles; Mr. Onnik
Mehrabian,
President/Founder, Glendale KIA;
Dr. Roger Ohanesian,
President/Founder, Armenian EyeCare Project & Harvard Eye Associates, and
Operation USA; Mr.
Roger Rodas,
CFO of Cielo; Coach
Tom Walter,
Wake Forest University;
and a special guest appearance by Coach Tommy
Lasorda of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
All
proceeds from the Global Partners Awards Dinner will
go directly to facilitate life-saving pediatric
organ transplants for children around the world
through the WCTF.

WCTF hosted
its first annual Global Partners Awards Dinner at
the Sheraton Universal Hotel on May 12, 2011. The
purpose of the event, emceed by Lorenzo Lamas, was
to honor Carroll Shelby, Dr. Vartkes Najarian, and
executive directors from Mexico and Armenia, Dr.
Federico Mendoza Sanchez and Maria Yeganian,
respectively. The dinner was attended by many ardent
supporters and fans and raised much needed funds for
WCTF projects in Armenia and Mexico.

/WCTF/ -- The World Children’s Transplant Fund (WCTF) is
providing funding for Dr. Gegham Poghosyan and Dr. Davit
Dallakyan, both of Armenia, to receive specialized pediatric
transplant training at the USC University Hospital in Los
Angeles. The goal of the training is to educate the visiting
doctors on pediatric organ transplantation and management of
transplant candidates and recipients.

The World Children’s Transplant Fund just began
“Project Mexico” in 2009. The team has visited the
Guadalajara area, met with a Hospital Director and
Transplant Surgeons in Mexico, and visited Mexican
Hospitals at various socio-economic levels. All
initial efforts have been focused on a primary
task—to see where and how the assistance of the WCTF
would have the most impact to help the most children
in Mexico receive lifesaving transplant surgery.
